You guys here about how the self-proclaimed real maple syrup brand in Quebec got found out to be (allededly) fake?

While a lot of my family is probably going into cardiac arrest at the news, I'm somehow beating the Canadian sterotype by not caring too much and focusing on the fact of how I found out about that first rather than how the rest of the world is having a meltdown.

I just want to get through finals gang... but as someone who is trying, I'm still going to provide some friendly reminders!

1. Boycott List (Fuck Israel)
2. Reuse, reduce, recycle.
3. Feed the hungry guys
4. Create shit with your own hands
5. Go build talk to real people. Wanna get more into the underground scene? GO TALK!

These are just general things to keep in mind, since I wanted to start off strong with the first entry on the blog. No, I'm probably not going to make every entry even remotely political, but I should probably set things straight when people do eventually read this stuff.

Not that it really matters, since if you care about the community people should take the time to do stuff in it.

I volunteered to feed the homeless when I was younger, I did it alongside my family, and it taught me a lot. Rather even, it showed me a lot too.

My older sibling had been volunteering there for a few years before I decided to join. When I stoppped in as well, there was already routines in place, people, regulars, who would stop by so they could have a nice Sunday dinner out of the harsh, freezing, winters of Ottawa.

I didn't volunteer very long, the place got shut down, or bought out, I can't really remember. But I know that the regulars who went there couldn't have that peaceful Sunday dinner anymore.

So.

Rather than claiming to make the shift into a punk identity, then not actually do anything by pushing that, I may as well start of strong by saying to get involved in the community. Not with just the music, fashion, and the aesthetic. But with doing things that you might find uncomfortable, but end up making other's lives more happy.
